From what I found, many are found due to seizures, so they are possible.
It would be up to the surgeon about the surgery and ordering more scan, but I also found that yes, they are sometimes found in the spine as well.
Questions I asked my surgeon were about the type of lesion, how common, heredity, recurrence, how they are removed, scarring, risks, hospital stay, monitoring after surgery, ...
You can ask about the lower back pain - hard to tell.
