After receiving my diagnosis of a likely malignant brain tumor in a difficult to reach area of the brain and a recommendation that I wait 4 weeks and rescan, I became proactive and looked for other options (to waist 4 weeks waiting seemed pointless) Despite the lack of recommendations from any of my doctors I searched and found a procedure developed at Cleveland Clinic where they go in and do a biopsy followed an ablation to destroy the tumor.(my local hospital was afraid to do the biopsy due to its location) I went through a lot of testing and went in for the actual procedure on July 1st. Before I was placed under anesthesia my surgical team went with me through the steps. My neurosurgeon told me they were 99% sure it was a malignant tumor. What followed was the biopsy was done and the pathologist found that not only was the lesion non-cancerous but also not a tumor. It was apparently demileated brain tissue and of no significant consequence. The surgery was terminated and I am now recovering at home. I have a follow-up next week at Cleveland . I feel very fortunate as though something miraculous has happened for me
