Oh... sorry! I must have read it wrong...
Let us know what the surgeon says!
I did not wait three years, the MRI was just done on Wednesday. I have been experiencing these things for three years, but they had never run an MRI until Wednesday of last week.
He may not be mad - but the report is a bit old? I just think you may need both doctors - but you may not... it is just that surgeons just cut while the other doctors run the tests and do the evaluations etc.
Since the Radiologist put see a surgeon in the report - why did you wait three years?
The MRI report suggested seeing a neurosurgeon so that is what my doctor told me to do. I have a friend at University Of Penn Hospital and he set it up with a neurosurgeon down there. I hope he is not mad that I made the appt. with him instead of a neurologist??? This is the first MRI, so there has been no follow up yet.
When did they find the menigioma, and how much follow up has been done? Have you had regular MRIs to track the size to make sure it is stable? Are you under the care of a neurologist?
Usually one goes to a surgeon after a neurologist has made the determination that it is time to remove it - so the surgeon may or may not be the right choice at this time so depending on the personality of the doctor, he may not be so happy when you don't have surgical orders.
I would find a neurologist, get follow up care, and MRI and see what is going on first and then once you get surgical orders, then see the surgeon.
