connection between peripheral vision and thyroid

Does anyone know if there can be a connection between loss of peripheral vision and hypothyroidism?  Several month ago I had some disturbing vision problem.  My visual field test showed significant loss of peripheral vision, on the inside of my left eye and the outer edge of my right.  The peripheral vision loss resolved itself, but my vision is often blurrier than usual.  The MRI showed a pineal cyst as well as an arachnoid cyst about my optic nerve (although not touching it at the time of the test).  It also showed a thickening of my ethmoid sinuses.  In the past few weeks I have had very severe joint and muscular pain, and a lot of discomfort in my neck and shoulder.  Bad headache and a pain behind my left eye.  My eyes was red and irritated for a few days as well.  My ASO was 380, Sed rate 25, TSH 12.7.  One doctor said thyroid, another rheumatic fever (which i have mentioned in another question i posted).   Could ALL of my symptoms be related to the Thyroid? (pain, vision, fatigue, puffness around eyes, weight fluctuation of up to five pounds up and down in a day or two).  It seems difficult to get Drs with different specialties to agree on a specific diagnosis.  I'd be very grateful for any input.

Yes I have both fatigue and insomnia.  My sleep cycles are all out of wack, but the doc insist that the cysts are not causing my symptoms.

Your symptoms are all most likely from hormone imbalance and pressure from the cysts.
The pineal gland is responsible for melatonin hormone, too. Do you have extreme fatigue, or any insomnia? I believe you have more than just thyroid involvement.

Were those all the tests done? Sounds like you have a lot going on for it to just be thyroid IMHO.
Thyroid issues do not in general cause vision problems. I have never heard of it.

Has your doctor treated a lot of these cysts? Are you going to have surgery?
