cyclic cushing's

Can a pituitary tumor cause cyclic cushing's or is cyclic cushing's only from an adrenal tumor?  I went to a new endo dr yesterday and this is what he told me.  "Cyclic cushing's is only found when the adrenals are involved not the pituitary".

Since about 98% of Cushing's is pituitary, his comment is also strange... I hope you take his hint and find someone else - he is not worth the bother.

As for normal, I have often found, sadly, that when my docs said all was normal that when I got a copy, I found a lot was abnormal and other docs found a lot that helped them.

Thanks for the response.

I knew you would know and it's what I thought you'd say but I wanted to verify it with you.

He also told me that all my tests have been normal so there is nothing going on and my Internist can order my next MRI almost like he didn't care to see me again.

Ah - an endummy!
It can be pituitary... I had pituitary cyclical Cushing's and oh, know about... gee, er, several hundred if not more that have the same.

Find another doctor - but at least he knows he it exists.
