Dear Elizabeth3000,
Please let me know if you have any further question about the management of your pituitary tumor. The genital problems seams to be unrelated in my opinion. At least it is not the we see often associated to pituitary tumors.
thanks
have they done any type specific herpes igg blood testing on you so far?

Thanks for replying gracefromHHP. No i have not had any herpes testing done other than the Urgent Care doctor examining my vagina for blisters, bumps, and lesions. The doctor did not find any herpes like bumps or anything like that but because of my tingling, burning, and itching sensations in the pubic area and butt area she said it was very suggestive of herpes. She didn't give me any prescription for medication tho. I initially went there to get a herpes test but it was very expensive and I thought i would be best to wait 3 months ( after possible exposure) to get tested because it would be a better chance of the test being accurate. I was tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea (which both came back negative). All this tingling start when I had sex for the FIRST time ever ( i was tryng to wait for marriage) 3 months ago but my tingling in my hands and feet started 2 months before that. The guy I had sex with told me he got a std test including herpes test and they came back negative for other stds and herpes . Im not sure what kinda of test he got tho. Like 20 days after the initial sexual contact ( we didn't even finish because he could keep his penis erect) I got a head cold. its didn't feel like the flu and i didn't have and sore throat just a runny nose. After that i notice tiny ,tiny cluster of sandpaper like bumps at the opening of my vagina. I cant examining it and spreading open the area to get a better look . It didnt grow in size and they are still down there 3 months later. But after initially discovering them i began constant examination of them and i began to get a tingling down there. The tingling turned to burning then to itching then to pain. I did more research and everything pointed to herpes. The burning feeling has even woken me up out of my sleep. It last 6 weeks. Then it stopped and now the burning and itching is back a day before my period starts. Im 5 days into my period and it still burning , and itching with pain in the pubic area. What really scares me i feel spots of pain of burning and pain in my actual vaginal area which i didnt have previously. I plan to get tested in the next couple of days as i do not have funds yet or insurance. Which test should i ask for? Could this be herpes or anxiety (connected to my pituitary tumor). The symptoms of burning and tingling are sometimes constant and then sometime off and on. Thanks
I'd go back to be seen again and get retested for yeast and bacterial infections genitally too.
if you need any help once you get your herpes test results, feel free to post on the herpes P2P forum here on medhelp where I check in regularly :)
Continue to follow up on all your other, non-genital symptoms with your neurologist too.

Pituitary tumors can cause headaches - but if you are under a lot of anxiety, that can cause them as well. The pituitary can mess with a lot of gyne issues - but usually it is related to period, fertility, hormone levels etc. but I know I did get a lot of infections - my immune system got compromised by my particular tumor (not every type does it) so you have to go to a neuro-endo and get the lab testing to identify the type of lesion that you have to determine the course of treatment. Please find a pituitary center for testing. I would also advise getting and keeping copies of everything from lab testing to MRIs to make sure the care you are getting is good - and reading up to make sure that the doctor is doing what is right (not all docs are on the ball).
Thanks ladies for the advice and reply. I went to the gyno today and got some std test done including herpes. The gyno didnt see anything that looked like herpes either. I praying to God the results come back negative. I scheduled an appointment for the neurologist for next week. I guess they have to run test on me too. Im in the process of looking for a good pituitary center too.
My herpes test came back negative for hsv1 and hsv2 only after 3 months. So I guess I can rule that out but I want to test again. But my question for Dr. Danprev is tingling in general associated with pituitatty tumors? The tingling and burning in my abdominal area now and it been happening for over a month. Like could it be a functioning tumor and it is probably affecting my hormones?
