Chiari Malformation

In June 2010, I went to my primary Dr for an on going hip problem. I told her about some "strange" problems I have been having ie. increased daily headaches, coordination issues, vision problems, etc. She sent me for 2 MRIs, one w/ contrast and that came back with an enlarged Pituitary gland. I went to a neurologist, and he sent me for another MRI...this one of my c-spine. This one showed a 6mm herniation... diagnosed me with a Chiari Malformation. So then came the referal to a neurosurgeon. He sent me for a MRI of my CFS flow. This showed flow anterior, and no flow posterior. Endocrine levels are fine, optic nerve fine, repeat Mri at 6mos. showed that pituitary is same...10mm. My symptoms are getting worse and neurosurgeon recommended that I shouldn't have surgery for my Chiari because it may/may not get better. Neurologist has put me on Neurotin...double my dose at 4 months, to try to "control" my headaches.I generically asked another neurosurgeon his opinion, and he said typically, everything I said would indicate surgery.  What is your opinion??? BTW...I work at OSU and you would probably recognize me. My MRIs are on file there.
