21yr Male with Lump in Breast

Hello Everyone,

Im a 21 year old male that has a lump in my right breast directly behind the nipple. I is about the same size as my nipple and seems to have stopped increasing in size for the last two weeks. It is somewhat tender if I try to feel it. It seems fairly firm but not smooth at all. The surface seems to be quite bumpy and rough! I would normally immediately get it checked out but I am in Germany for the next 8 weeks. I just wanted to know it this is something that could possibly wait for the 8 weeks?

Please let me know as this is something that is consistenly on my mind....

Thank you,
Jon

Thank you very much. It defiantely makes my travels and studies here in Europe a lot more comforting to know that this can wait till I get back home. As you probably know, here in Germany I would have to pay for any medical test or visits up front. That is why this was such a big decision as I was affraid that for sure they will need to run test which will defiantely cost a good chunk of money. Thank you for putting my mind at ease for awhile. I was and will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Jon - there is no way on the internet anyone of us can diagnose a lump - benign or malignant. Even bc doctors need a biopsy of the lump to give a definitive diagnosis. I had no palpable lump, just a normal 3 yrly mammo which showed a big black spiculated mass. It did turn out to be breast cancer, but that is not to say your lump is malignant. It could be fibrous tissue - just go and get it checked out when you go home, otherwise you will worry yourself silly. It would be very unusual at your age for it be breast cancer. Stop worrying until you get home and get it checked professionally.
Hugs,and take care,
Liz.

Just wondering if this lump sounds like any type of lump in particular. I was originally petrified that it was cancer but now that I have done a lot of research it seems that the chances of this are very small, especially since there is no breast cancer in my immediate family. Just wondering if my description fits anything like a cyst or something other than cancer?

Thank you again,
Jon

Any lump in the breast needs checking out with a doctor but I doubt that if this is a malignant tumour 8 weeks is not going to make much difference in the meantime. But, do go and get it checked when you return home.
