Arimedex-Brest Cancer

I have been prescribed Arimedex for the next five years after my lumpectomy, removal of all left lymph nodes, 6 sessions of chemotharapy followed by 1 month of radiotharapy.I take a tablet each night before going to bed. Does this make a difference to the preformance of the medication. the instructions read ' take daily' it also has an effect on the bones due to blockage of minerals. What can I take as I am not very tall and can fall victim to osteoprosis.

I was wondering about side effects from Arimidex. I was dx and had lump/snb recently. Cannot take Tamox. I know the data on the AI's isn't complete and I am worried about toxicity to the liver as well as clots. Does anyone know about any of this? Thanks

I take arimidex as well. for about 3 years, now, too.
my dexa scan showed I am osteopenic (halfway to osteoperosis)

The time of day will not matter at all.

you should have a dexa scan and should take calcium and vitamin D, especially if you don't get out in the sun much for your vitamin D)

ask to make sure that your blood calcium is normal before you take lots of calcium.

I have smiliar history with bc as you. I have been taking Arimidex for almost 3 years and was prescribed Alendronate (Fosamax) once weekly to prevent osteoporosis. There are other bisphophosonates (sp?) that your Onc can prescribe.
