Breast Examine

I found a lump in my right breast. Had a mamogram last September and one last week.  Did not find anything wrong with the new or previous mamogram and no difference between the two mamograms.  Had an ultasound that did not find anything wrong.  I went away happy.  Then the doctor called and recommended I see a surgen due to my lumpy (his words) breasts and this makes the detection of cancer harder.  Went to see the surgen today. He said that upon examination could not find any thing wrong, but !  he said he would normally recommed a needle biospy, but because of the condition of my dense breast knows that he would get a negitive result and the only way to know for sure that no cancer is present was to do surgery, even though the mamogram and ultasound were negitive.  He suggested that I think about it !    So now I am worried, no one found anything wrong but the only way to know for sure is Surgery !
Do I have a needle biospy anyway?  Should I have an MRI?    Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your reply.  The surgery was to remove the lump I had found.  The surgeon said that the lump did not feel strange to him. He said that I know my body best and that I should do what I feel needs to be done..........  That’s when I got confused, mammogram clear, ultrasound clear and I'm meant to guess what is right for my body.
I really do not want to have any surgery but when the doctors say they can not rule out the possibility because of dense breasts what are you supposed to do.  The surgeon did not offer an MRI it was only finding this board that I realized it was option.  My view would be for me to push for one before any unnecessary surgery.

I understand from this board that the MRI can produce a lot of fault positive results but my question would be it the results are negative is that a definite for sure negative.

Thanks again.

I don't understand exactly what type of surgery is being considered here .... I believe I would go for the MRI before having some ?? type of surgery for something that so far hasn't shown up on any of the testing.  I'm not too fond of needle biopsies when it's not clear exactly what is being biopsied. A second opinion in this case might be valuable also.   Regards ....
