You are welcome,
I think that having your breasts checked out now, is a much better option instead of waiting and worrying for the next 6 months till your next follow-up .
3D Mammography is a powerful tool to detect very early any breast's abnormalities. If you have dense breasts, this is another excellent test to have.
Also 3D Mammography is more comfortable than traditional mammogram, because there is less compression.
Please try to relax, you are receiving excellent medical care and keep in mind that most breast lumps are not serious at all.
Take care and the best of luck to you!
Thank you for the reassusrance. I just received a call from the radiologist they now want to do a 3D mammo, My anxiety is just crazy!!!
More than half of all women will have fibrocystic changes in the breast tissue (lumpy feeling) at some time or age in their lives. This is not a disease but may make it more difficult to "see" any abnormalities that are present ... the recommendation for a short term follow-up of 6 months is routine as a matter of checking for any changes that might occur. I see nothing in the report that would be cause for alarm. These reports are meant to be interpreted by a Physician rather than by the patient who would have no reason to understand the wording used in them. Your prescribing Dr. should explain in detail exactly what they mean in your particular situation. Regards ....
Hi,
Fibrocystic breast condition,is the most common cause of "lumpy breasts" affecting a lot of women between the ages of 30 and 50.This condition tends to become less of a problem after menopause.
Your MRI shows that your lymph nodes are fine and that you have lumps within the breast tissue that don't appear concerning .Most often they could be cysts or Fibroadenomas (both benign) These lumps are very common and are known to increase in size and tenderness due to hormonal changes.
I really wouldn't worry about your MRI results, because there is nothing there to suggest something suspicious that warrants a biopsy.A 6 months follow up is standard procedure to make sure that no changes occur.
If you need a second opinion, the best Doctor to see would be a Breast Surgeon/Specialist who can review all your tests films and determine whether or not any lump necessitates further attention.
Best wishes...
