Breast Problems

For almost 3 months I have experienced:  my breast feeling warm to touch, swollen at times and itching deep within.  Also my nipple seems very sensitive.  Since the symptoms, I have been doing self exams to be on the safe side.  I have found a very small lump in my right breast near my armpit.  Should I be worried?

That's fine but any Dr. can order a Mammogram and they are read by the Radiologist and sent to whomever you designate. I'm sure you would have been referred by your OB/GYN if necessary. Kindest regards ....

My cousin performs mamograms in Memphis.  I talked to her and she suggested that I definately see a specialist, so I have canceled my OBGYN appt, and made an appt with a breast specialist.  My aunt, mother's sister, died two years ago after battling Her2 Positive breast cancer.  I have breast implants and I decided, it may be best to see a specialist...I will keep you posted.

I suppose that will be an OK place to start .... no doubt you will be referred to another Dr. but  she will certainly recommend some type of testing to start the process. Keep us posted, OK ?

My appointment is with my OBGYN.  Do you think it is okay to see her or should I see a breast specialist first?

Congratulations .... in the future don't let things go .... that only complicates things and IF it were something serious that would not be good. Please let us know the results of your Dr.s appointment. Best wishes .....

I think the best thing you could do is to see a Breast Specialist about the symptoms you describe. Any time you notice something that doesn't seem "right" concerning your breast you should have it checked out sooner rather than later. Breast Self Exam is good but seeing your Dr. is better especially if you have found something abnormal. Please make an appointment soon for a clinical breast exam and any other testing that may be appropriate. Regards ....
