Breast discharge

Hi!! I had a total hysterectomy Halloween last year. This year during my mammogram with breast pain I had discharge from both breast. More from the right than the left. They did another mammo followed by an ultrasound. During the ultrasound the tech was telling me I had discharge due to hormones  I said I didn't think I had any. She stated its due to my ovaries. I told her I didn't have ovaries any more. Am I crazy here. Where do I go from here when I feel liked I am being brushed off as no big deal. Thank you!!

There is nothing abnormal about breast discharge ... most anytime when pressure is applied to the breast or nipple area a signal is sent to the brain and discharge will be produced. This is a natural function of the brain and body. It has a lot to do with nursing a baby of course.
We have hormones in our bodies whether we have ovaries or not, at least to some extent. I'm sure the Tech. didn't know about your previous surgery when she was doing your testing. Breast discharge can be almost any color and consistency and especially when it's from both breasts is nothing that should cause concern. If there were some discharge from only one breast and it occurred WITHOUT any stimulation it might be wise to ck. it out with your Physician ..... otherwise no problem.   Regards ....

If the discharge persists you might have it checked out anyway ... especially if it's spontaneous. This can be related to a milk duct issue but it would be rather rare for it to be in both breasts. Just be sure you aren't tempted to squeeze or apply any pressure ..."just to check" like so many women will do.  Take care ....

Thank you for your response. Clear at first than slightly bloody. My guess was pressure on the breast due to the mammo. Still so sore and still slightly discharging. Thank you again for the positive response. Twice had cancer is nice to know not to worry
