Hi
Thank you for the comments. You are right my biopsy result also says that i don not have any thing invasive inside. So I am a bit confident at athe moment. I do not have any one in my family with cancer, no family records at all. I am he first person showing such a precancerous situation. Hence my parents are very much worried. I think this developed primarily due to life styles.

Dear Norah,
Thank you for your sugessions. I had my biopsy report yesterday and it says that they could not find any invasive cells in the lump, and the sentinal lymph node is also clear, also the cells do not have any hormone receptors. This means that I do not have the REAL cancer ie the invasive one. I have already done the blood test for the cancer antigens but all were under control except the CA 125, which the doctor told could vary with my periods and it is not a matter of concern. But I am not sure about this, but the usual breast cancer antigen is well in its limits. I do not have any one in my whole family who had cancer. This I beleive could be due to change in life styles....Currently I am doing my phd in germany so I dont have any one whom i personnaly know to ask for a second opinion exept my family doctor. So I would be going for Masectomy by 15 sept. Hope it will all end up fine.

Dear Karthika,
DCIS refers to cancer cells that are found only within the milk ducts. They have not spread through or outside of the wall of the duct.DCIS usually can not be felt in breast exam and most of the time it shows up in mamogram. Make sure that you have DCIS and it is not invasive. It means it has not gone outside the milk duct. In that case it has not gone any where and if the doctor just leave the skin you will be safe. Since you are 26 you may want to do the genetic test to make sure you are not at risk of overian cancer. I am 46 years and 1.5 years ago I got DCIS. I did lumpactomey and Radiation. My mom and my sister had invasive breast cancer. But I was lucky I found out before it became invasive. Always if you do not feel comfortable get the second or even third opinion.
Good luck,
Norah
I'm guessing that ductal cancer doesn't tend to be found in the breast skin (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). That's why it is called ductal cancer, because it is in the ducts. However, given that yours was apparently very close to the surface, you might get a second opinion about your skin for peace of mind.
Do you have breast cancer in your family? You are so young.
Dear Norah,
I felt it as a lump under the nipple but never even dreamt that it would be something like this...;)
I have one question. How did you find out you have DCIS at age of 26? Did you feel it when you touched your breast?
