Hi, i dont really know where to start... This is really just a message to anyone out there... I have a cousin who is 13 now and they recently found a lump under his armpit as well. It is about the size of a nickel although i have yet to have seen it. My cousin went to the doctors last Thursday i believe and they took some blood tests. They say they are unsure of what it may be, and they will get the tests back soon. Im only 14...he is more than just a cousin to me, he's my best friend. Im really affraid and i dont know what to think. His mother (my aunt) just recently overcame Nonhodgkins lymphoma. Does this have any connection to him? Im still researching on my own, but all other stories ive heard, people say the doctors says its ok on the first visit. They arent telling me much (my mother and aunt) because they dont want to scare us. Im obviously scared, but i need to know if he will be ok. Is there anyone out there thats ever encountered anything like this? Thank you very much.

I had breast cancer surgery last June...the lump was very small (1), and it appeared that it had actually been removed in the needle biopsy.  The surgeon also did a sentinal node biopsy at the time.  Clear.  I had radiation for six weeks afterwards.  I have good range of motion, but there is a soreness in the area under my arm pit, extending down the side of the chest wall, and I can feel a lump there.  In complained of it in November and the oncologist said it was nothing to be concerned about.  Yet this soreness persists.  Any thoughts or suggestions ?

I actively exercise 3 times a week and some of them do chest press and  core pole. Yesterday I noticed that my left breast feels sore and also under armpit which I think is the muscle and still do now. When I took shower and did breast self-exam, I feel kinda lump but also feel bone (or muscle which I confused). And when you press firmly, it feels hurt. I was so shocked, so I repeated this self-exam many times. Sometimes you can feel it and sometimes you can't. And this morning, I did self-exam again, I barely can't feel it, only feels like bone (or muscle ??) that hurt when you press it. What do you think it is ? Is this something serious that I need to see my doctor right away or it's just the muscle because the exercise I did. Or I have to wait until the sore gone and do self-exam again ?  Any infos will be appreciated. Anyway, I'm 37 yrs old. Thank you so much.

Hi,

It is about getting a confirmed diagnosis and and most importantly about clearing all your doubts. You have to be convinced and also get the right treatment.

Do not worry, and you should not be embarrassed at all. It would be best to discuss with your doctor about what you feel , and see what the doctor advises next. You could ask about getting a mammogram, ultrasound and xray done.

Let us know about how you are doing and do schedule an appointment if the swelling persists.

Keep us posted.

Regards.

Hi!

I am not too bad now.

Yes I have tried warm compresses and the tablets for pain relief.. Its does help for a little while..

I checked the swell muscule under my armpit.. Its feel like bone, not muscle.. like a tiny ball if I press hard and feel it.  when i exercise I find uncomfortable bec felt that its abit bigger than another armpit... sometimes sore or not!!

I havent went to the doctor yet if its still there!!  I would be embrassing if she say no, its only muscle.. What would u advise me if its still there and what would i say to the doctor..

Thank u

Brenda

Hi!

I am 35 years old. Sorry didnt get to see your message until now... I went to the doctor last week and she said it's muscle. She didnt check the breast examination.  All she said its virus and will be gone by next week or so!! But I did check breast examination myself.. Only swollen lump (muscle) under armpit and no lumps around my breasts, just sore breast.  Also I got tiny swollen on right side rib and tiny lump behind my left ear.. I didnt notice before.. unitl 2 days ago!!  I find my rib very uncomfortable and sore.. everyday I checked my temp its always around at 38c. So I guess its must be virus...The doctor said if the lump still there, come back in few weeks times.. I hope its only virus..

Thank u

Brenda

Hi,

What is your age? Do you notice any abnormal features on breast self examination like a lump, nipple discharge or skin changes etc?

The pain could be due to trauma, injury, tight clothes, bad posture, lifting heavy weights, infections of the lymph nodes etc.

Tuberculosis or any other bacterial infection also needs to be ruled out.

You could try some warm compresses and oral pain relief medications and see if it helps with your symptoms.

If the pain still persists, it would be best to consult your doctor about this.

Let us know how you are doing and what your doctor advises.

Post us if you have any other doubts.
