MRI Confusion

I recently had an MRI as follow up to a core needle biopsy diagnosis of a 7mm malignancy in my right breast. Here is the summary finding that leaves me confused as to whether a larger area of malignancy exists. Lumpectomy is scheduled for 4/5. Should I be worried that I have a much larger cancer than originally indicated?

IMPRESSION:
1. Right breast: Non-mass and mass enhancement surrounds the micro
clip in the upper outer mid posterior position, spanning up to 2.4 cm.
This corresponds to the area of architecture distortion noted
mammographically. There is no convincing evidence for multifocal or
multicentric disease (given exam limitations). There are no enlarged
lymph nodes (BIRAD category 6, known malignancy).
2. Left breast: No suspicious findings (given exam limitations, BIRAD
category 2, benign).

Good advice. I think I am getting ahead of myself. Just like everyone says, waiting for the post-surgery pathology is the hardest part. Taking one day at a time.

Thanks for the kind words. I know I am one of the lucky ones as this is early stage and would not have been discovered if I had not gone for my regular mammogram. Keeping a positive attitude!

I'm not sure why you are thinking that the lesion may be more than is stated in the report .... just thinking the worst perhaps ?? Surgical removal will be performed and the specimen tested by the Pathology Lab and it will be determined that the margins of same will be free of cancer cells. The report also indicates that there is no evidence of Lymph node enlargement but nodes will also be tested at the time of surgery. Try not to stress yourself by negative thoughts and assumptions .... I'm sure there will also be a treatment plan put into place following the surgery after complete healing has taken place and all the Pathology studies are done.  Regards ...
