I, too, have been recalled due to "asymmetry". It is freaking me out at bit. I go Friday morning for another mammogram (or something?)
Good luck to you.
Hi,
There are plenty of benign reasons for asymmetrical breast tissue.
Asymmetric density means that there is an area that does not appear normal as compared to the rest of the breast tissue.A spot compression mammogram is needed to further characterize the area. This could be as simple as some tissue folding over on itself that has appeared as a shadow and this will resolve with spot compression. It is really not uncommon at all to be called back and it does not necessarily mean cancer. It just means that further evaluation is needed
Hoping that all will turn up to be just fine.
Best wishes..
