Hi Freedom, nice to meet you! I"m a cancer survivor now since 1993-94, I had the cancer awhile before I did anything, wasn't sure if the lump would go away or not and it didn't. I have fibrocystic breast disease too. Let us know what the cells turn out to be. Cells were on your breast or in it?
Hi and welcome to our Forum.
Atypical (Abnormal) cells found in the breast tissue is not cancer, however when they appear, it's a sign that the normal breast cells have changed, therefore increasing your risk of developing breast cancer in the future.Your doctor, who has your complete medical pathology report, may advise you to surgically remove the area of concern to be absolutely sure that these abnormal cells are not neighboring cancerous ones. Also he/she may recommend hormonal treatment such as tamoxifen or other similar drugs.
Talk to your doctor to get more information about your pathology report, and please let us know what he/she recommends and advises you.
Best wishes...
