Phyllodes Tumor

Ok history..... 25 years old, 2nd borderline Phyllodes tumor (finally had my slides sent to Vanderbilt) My Dr from the Pensacola FL MD Anderson says based on this information, that he is reccommending that I go to see my Doc at UAB who I have seen before Dr Bland. He thinks that I should have the skin sparing mastectomy because of the reoccurence. Just like some opinions.

PS... we consulted with UAB just after my mastectomy about my pregnancy and doing chemo.  Talked with Dr B....????  Beverly something.  Excellent staff there, too, they handle LOTS of pregnant women with complications of cancer (or surgical situations).  You'll be in good hands there.  That was my first contact with UAB, sent there to calm fears by my OB in Montgomery.  New that if something bad were to happen during my pregnancy, that UAB could and would handle the situation.

You can contact me further personally, if you wish.  Good luck on the surgery and hope baby is good, too.

I'll have to toss in that the docs at MD Anderson are some of the best, and Dr Bland at UAB I've heard is excellent also.  I see Dr Forero at UAB and feel that I have very good info from them.

What kind of timeline are they recomending?

Good luck, and if you can get in with him, Dr Fix at UAB did my reconstruction, tram flap.  Excellent results and LOVED him and his attitude.
