Radiation following lumpectomy and hematoma formation

I had a lumpectomy 3 weeks ago.  What I thought was significant bruising was actually a huge hematoma forming.  I am still quite swollen and tender but am making healing progress each day.  Upon seeing the radiation oncologist he suggested waiting a couple of weeks before having a CAT scan and starting radiation therapy.  Question - must all of the hematoma be absorbed before having the CAT scan and radiation?

A hematoma and bruising are much the same ..... the bruising is due to bleeding beneath the skin and a hematoma is that also.  I can take a considerable length of time for the hematoma to be completely absorbed so I doubt that treatment would be delayed until it was completely absorbed.  Your Oncologist will be the one to determine how long to wait.
