Thanks for your comments. I have heard of post menopausal women developing cysts on their ovaries, however it is very unusual. Either I the cyst developed several years ago while I was pre-menopausal and suddenly now it is causing pain or it is something else all together. I have been under a lot of stress. I know stress can tear the body apart.
Since the first ultrasound I think the doctor is waiting to see if the ovarian cyst grows or I become increasingly uncomfortable. She is an OBYN and I am a little concerned about her level of experience regarding post menopausal woman's issues. The pain in my back and pelvis is the last thing I think about when going to sleep and the first thing to welcome me in the morning. If my doctor puts me off another 3 months waiting watching mode, I am going to get another opinon. I can't live like this.
o by the way i kno someone who had a large cyct on their ovary and had it removed, i dont think it was cancerous but they removed it to be sure. yours maybe smaller tho.
yea thats the only connection is the hormones. sometimes if u have a tumour or sumthing in a place where hormones are produced it can cause oversecretion of those hormones. and a build up of oestrogen would cause problems in the breast.but as japdig says your ovaries would no longer be secreting that because of not ovulating.
generally they arent linked because if u take the contraceptive pill they say theres a decreased risk of getting cervical or ovarian cancer but increased risk of breast cancer dont they?
Cysts are benign fluid filled sacs and can form almost anywhere in the body. I see no connection between your ovarian cyst and the breast cyst. The only relation between the ovaries and the breast is the Estorgen produced by the ovaries which is in turn related to the tenderness of the breasts and sometimes the increase in the incidence of breast cysts in pre-menopausal women. Since you are post-menopausal and your ovaries are not producing the hormone this would not be a consideration in your case.
