Me, too, worried4528!!! I'd get it checked out for sure if the symptoms were so similar to a BC diagnosis. I'd definiteley follow up with my doctor's recommendations after the mammo. I wouldn't worry at all about "crying wolf". ou know your own body better than anyone else.
I wish you all the best and hope your fears are unfounded,
Hugs,
nc
I agree with Katarina and zouzi. The top breast surgeon in my area advises his BC survivor pts to report to him any new breast-related symptom that persists for 2 weeks.
Better safe than sorry!
Please let us know how things turn out when you hear back from the mammogram.
We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Hi,
I am sure that you are doing the right thing to have this pain investigated.
Although it's unusual to experience pain because of cancer,it can certainly happen in rare occasions.
It's quite understandable that you feel worried because of your previous breast cancer diagnosis, but it doesn't mean that this time will also be the same.Pain in the breast could be caused by many things..But once any of us have been diagnosed a first time, our risk is slightly elevated vs. the average population. The risk isn't huge though, most women who have BC will not get it again ,but maybe about 20% of women will get BC twice.Hopefully the odds are in your favor.
I wish you well and I sincerely hope that your upcoming Mammogram will be negative for cancer.
Take care...
Worried asks: 'Am I doing the right thing by having a mammagram?'
Worried tells:
' The throbbing pain is just like the last time. I was trying to not cry wolf just worried. They say breast cancer doesn't hurt but mine did".
Answer for Worried: How would you advise someone else if they told you this?
The fact is that you are worried, and in your shoes, and probably even if not in your shoes, I would be too.
