Aged 45.I had my Breast Mammo and US Scan on 08/29/2011.
Mammo Report
Standard cranio-caudal and medio-lateral oblique mammograms of both breasts were obtained. Comparison made with prior mammograms dated 08/19/2010.
The breasts demonstrate a heterogeneously dense appearance of fibroglandular tissues.
Scattered punctate microcalcifications are seen in both breasts. No dominant mass, suspicious microcalcifications or architectural distortions are seen.
The skin and nipples of both breasts are unremarkable.
US Breast
Bilateral whole breast ultrasound scan was preformed. Comparison was made with prior scan dated 03/08/2011.
Several cysts are seen in both breasts, some demonstrating low level internal echoes or internal septa. Scarring is noted in upper outer quadrant of the (R) breast.
No suspicious solid or cystic lesion is demonstrated.
Benign appearing lymph nodes are seen in both axillae.
IMPRESSION:
Heterogeneously dense breasts with no mammographic evidence of malignancy or suspicious interval change.
Multiple cysts are scattered in both breasts, some demonstrating internal septa or low level internal echoes. No suspicious solid or cystic lesion is seen.
Routine annual screening is recommended.
My question are:-
1) Doctor suggest now I need not go for US scan half a year just put to yearly scan together with Mammo. Is this ok or not as last time she felt due to my conditions put me to half a year scan?
2) My cysts never go away as some cysts are complicated will it turns something bad?
3) Doctor told me as if I turn menopause cysts might go away. My breasts are dense and I sometimes I do suffer pain and heavy especially my left breast give me more problem.
Kindly give me some advice.
Thanks a Million.
Warmest Regards
