immunohistochemistry report and histopathology report

Can someone tell me the prognosis for my mom's recovery based on the following these two test results?
How severe is the cancer?
What medicines/treatments can be effective in controlling/eliminating the cancer?

The doctors have recommended rediotherapy and chemotherapy.

Thanks
-Chitti

From the results section of the immunohistochemistry report:
Estrogen receptor (ER): % of tumor cell nuclei positive = 70 to 80%; Classification = Positive
Progesterone receptor (PR): % of tumor cell nuclei positive = 80 to 90%; Classification = Positive

Her-2neu: Score = 0/3; Interpretation = Negative

From the histopathology report:
MATERIAL : Modified radical left mastectomy specimen for HPE

MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION:
Multiple sections studied from the tumor mass show cellular tumor with circumscribed margins. There are compactly arranged glands of varying sizesl some of them show papillary processes and lined by columnar epithelium. There is moderate nuclear pleomorphism, disorganization, coarse chromatin clumping and small nucleolus. Mitotic activity is highl about 2-3/10 HPF. There are focal areas of necrosis and cellular fibrosis and focla lymphoid follicles.
Section of the nipple and areola show multiple pilosebaceous glands and basal hyperpigmentation. There are multiple lactiferous ducts lined by double layered columnar epithelium.
Rest of the breast show focal acinar atrophy, patchy areas of cellular fibrosis, hyalinization. Some of the interlobar ducts are cystically dilated and lined by tall columnar epithelium.
Sections of axillary lymph nodes (0/8) show preserved architecture and multiple lymphoid follicles, germinal centre formation and intervening sinusoidal pattern. There are focal collections of pigment laden macrophages. There are free of tumor.

IMPRESSION:
Features are suggestive of invasive ductal carcinoma, histological grade II, left breast.
Fibrocystic disease with hyalinization, rest of the breast.
Nipple and areola, tissue at the posterior surface and axillary lymph nodes are free of tumor.

Hi,

The treating surgeons and oncologists are in fact the best people to tell you about the prognosis and the further plan of management. This is because every case is different and a complete case history, investigation reports etc should be known before any comment can be made on these queries.

But from what you have posted - i would like to suggest a few things - you should talk to your oncologist about hormone therapy and whether it would help in your mother's case - especially because the hormone receptor status is positive.

Also, talk about the chemotherapy and radiotherapy being planned and about the possible side effects.

Let us know about how your mother is doing and also about what your doctor advises.

Regards.

Additional information that might be relevant: my mom is 56 years old and has been healthy all her life. She has been a vegetarian for the last 10 years. (Before that she only had chicken, mutton or sea food.) Never smoked a cigarette or any other tobacco product. Never had any alcoholic beverages.

Can someone help with the reports?
