lump breast

Hi I found a lump last monday and went to see the doctor on tuesday who ordered a mamogram and ultra sound for me.  I remained cool until I got the call to see her on Saturday.  She told me that there is suspecious calification. I went totally numb and was like I was outside my body.  I am now waiting to get in to see a specialist I guess to have a biopsy?  The unknown is what kills us its not the knowing I think I can face it I hope I can.  I guess Time will really see how strong I really am.  Just want to know if its really breast cancer.

Oh I am sorry. I am in a similar situation. I was also told last week that I have a 2cm mass and pre-calcifications. I understand completely about it being all surreal. I just wanted to sleep for days so I didn't have to think about it. I got a needle biopsy last Wed and now am waiting for my results this Wed coming. The dr was very blunt by telling me that if it is bc then I have to get a mastectomy. If it's not, then I need a lumpectomy. Still it's surgery and scary. Chemo and Rads they said too. I wake up every morning in tears. Then I calm down and try to get through the day.

Take someone with you to get the biopsy. I didn't and I should have.

Lean on your friends and family now- especially the ones on this site. They are wonderful women full of support. I have only been on here for a few days and have gotten great advice and prayers. We are all sisters here.

Please read some of these other posts - especially Tracey.
