Hi,
Usually painful lumps are not indicative of breast cancer, but any lump under the armpit (axilla) is concerning. It could be something as simple as a cyst or inflamed hair follicle, but suspicious lymph nodes also present in this area.
Because of this possibility, you should see your physician for evaluation.
If you need any additional information, please state your question on your own post. (As suggested on my previous comment)
Best wishes ...
Hi there,

i have a lump under my armpit and it hurts can anyone help me maybe give me some advise.
Hi!
An enlarged lymph node under the armpit is not necessarily indicative of a disease process such as breast cancer and may be related to numerous things, even a reaction to shaving your armpits. The fact that you are concerned indicates that you are aware of changes in your body and would followup any changes that are not temporary (ie the lump persists and does not go away or becomes larger in size.) Even if the lump is there for a period of time and may grow in size, it is not necessarily indicative of breast cancer.
How old are you? Have you had a recent clinical breast exam by your primary physician?
Are you old enough to have started yearly mammogram screening?
My first step would be to determine if the lump under your armpit changes in anyway over the next few days. If it remains troublesome, schedule an appt with your doctor for a clinical breast exam and pending his findings, determine at that time if additional exams such as a mammogram or ultrasound would be beneficial.
Take care ---
