Branch IPMN is it cancerous?

I have a 13mm branch IPMN on my Pancreas, It was discovered during a CT scan for abdominal pains.
I had emergency surgery for a bowel  obstruction shortly after and apparently had an ultrasound on the IPMN.
I have been told I need to have MRIs annually to ensure it doesn't grow. However I have been persistently unwell and have lost a lot of weight. Can you tell me,  how can it be established whether the IPMN is benign or not?
Should I get another opinion?

Imaging can be expensive. So I'd have blood work done every month or so. Tumor markers, like CA19-9 and CEA, are relatively cheap. And a consistent testing schedule will give your doctors the needed "heads up" to provide an effective treatment. Hoping that you remain healthy, take care.
