This elderly 80 man also suffers from a valve problem in his heart; A-fib, COPD, and a tumor on his larynx that is just being investigated. He has had radiation on prostate and bladder and spine cancer. SPine cancer is now been proven to be active. He is very fragile, has frequent trips to the hospital for pneumonia (currently at home but trying to recover from this third pneumonia in two years. Had terrible reactions to mouth problems, no appetite for several months, therefore, lost substantial weight. His weight is now down again (137lbs at 5' 9" height) and normal weight from three years ago was 155lbs.) He was first dx with prostate cancer 10 years ago and had surgery to remove it. Within two years, he was dx with bladder cancer. He is not a strong man and very weak in the legs for the last four years. What is his expected life in years if he does NOT do chemotherapy? With all the suffering that chemo will bring to him, how many more months/years could he expect...if he does recover from all the chemo and side affects?
