Skin probs around stoma

I have been battling with this colostomy bag for about five weeks now and the skin irritation where the bag sticks on and an area around that, is getting worse.
It's sore and even my clothes moving over the bag and area, is painful.
I am using Appeel aerosol and adhesive removal swabs to take the bag off and then LBF sachets of some form of barrier substance which is supposed to guard against irritation.
Either it doesn't work or I would be ten times worse without it!
Is there any kind of cream I can apply or any other answer please?

Thanks for the tip! Grateful.
As it happens the problem seems to have cleared up - maybe the skin just had to get used to the new regime or the barrier cream kicked in at last.
Will bear your suggestion in mind if it occurs again.

Hi there!

You could try using 1% hydrocortisone cream after consultation with your doctor and see if this seems to help with the skin irritation.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
