Clearly, you haven't looked at the evidence. There are bank statements showing fraud. There are inspection reports showing massive disease and unsanitary conditions. There are veterinary records showing cats dying of neglect. There are lab tests showing widespread infection with giardia, hookworms, roundworms, calicivirus, coronavirus, T. fetus, M. felis, and more. All of these infected cats were roaming freely around the property, infecting the few healthy cats.
"Fabricated and exaggerated"? Hardly.
If you disagree, please tell me which of the official documents at caboodleranch.net you believe to be invalid. Many of them come from Caboodle Ranch itself, including the tax filings, the vet records, and the bank statements. I sincerely doubt that Caboodle Ranch is exaggerating its own neglect and cruelty.
And where do you get your opinion that the sick cats were "well taken care of"? Craig Grant's idea of veterinary care was to wander around the property, squirting antibiotics into the mouths of any cat that "looked" sick, regardless of what its ailment might be. He didn't even wipe off the dropper between applications. And multiple, independent eyewitnesses have seen him wipe mucus from the faces of cats using toxic Clorox wipes. Is this really your idea of "well taken care of"?
If so, we have drastically different opinions of what animal care means.
There is no way those cats will be returned to a hoarder who cannot care for them, who has shown no effort to maintain basic standards of sheltering hygiene, who kept 700 cats on 8 disease-contaminated acres of land that cannot be sterilized.
All the futile petitions in the world aren't going to change that. This is a *criminal* case, not an internet poll. And Craig Grant will be held accountable for the suffering of those cats.
Thank you to those who have signed the petition! I think it's pretty likely that the cats will be returned to the Caboodle Ranch. Much of the evidence was fabricated and exaggerated. I've looked over the videos and yes, I did see sick cats, but they seemed well taken care of. After all the support from people around the world I have high hopes that justice will be had!
Evidence of cruelty and neglect at Caboodle Ranch had been piling up for *years* before PETA ever took an interest in the case. Please do not make the mistake of thinking that PETA is the prime motivation for taking action to protect the cats, or that the whitewashed image of the Ranch presented by hoarding apologists is anything close to the truth.
The real truth isn't nearly as pretty, and it's thoroughly documented in bank statements (showing charity fraud), vet records (showing neglect and inadequate care), inspection reports (showing unsanitary conditions, widespread disease, and unneutered cats having litters of kittens), photographic evidence (showing horribly suffering cats left to die in agony), Craig Grant's criminal history, the lies and evasions of Caboodle Ranch, and much more.
Before you decide that Caboodle Ranch was "set up" in some elaborate conspiracy involving more than a dozen rescue groups and agencies, get the rest of the facts that Caboodle Ranch and its supporters have been trying to suppress. All of the evidence above and more can be found at http://caboodleranch.net/?page_id=4 so you can make up your own mind.
I signed. Peta and haters created this RAID......this was a wonderful place for the cats....i hope he gets them back
Dont believe it sometimes PETA is really out of line and its not the first time like Green peace ..Animals need and love Humans ..I know many are illtreated and neglected I fight a battle everywhere I go , and am moving now as I am burnt out where I live..however they still love us ..I don't like garbage like that ...
If pets are so unhappy living with humans, why do dogs clearly smile in delight, or why do lap cats simply want their owner's lap?
I found this quote off Caboodle Ranch fb page. What is wrong with PETA? I don't understand how they get support when they say things like this.
“In the end, I think it would be lovely if we stopped this whole notion of pets altogether.” Ingrid Newkirk, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA), Newsday, 2/21/88.
“Pet ownership is an absolutely abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation.” Ingrid Newkirk, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA), “Just Like Us?” Harper’s, August 1988, p. 50.
