Blood in stool

Hi, my cat is 11 year old.  She has had diarhea for two days now and tonight there was a little mucous and blood.  Does anyone know anything about this?

Yes, best to take the cat in for a check up.  I had a cat once who had irritable bowel, and when it would flare up (stress, eating changes, etc), she would poop blood and mucus. Some meds and special diet helped.

Thank you, I will do that.  I wonder if the diarhea has irritated something causing the blood.  I feel scared but I know I have to take her in.

I'd take your cat in to get her checked. She's at that time of life when there are metabolic changes that may call for a special diet. generally, some testing is a good idea to figure out just what your kitty's needs are. hopefully it's something easily manageable, and you can catch it before any serious damage is done.
( generally blood can mean tearing in the tract, which can lead to scarring that causes problems in the future.)
