Can holidays stress cats?

I am curious of this because my sister has 3 cats. One of the cats who is 7 has a horrible attitude every year around Christmas. I wonder if maybe she picks up on my sister's stress? Anyone ever experience this with a cat?

I have an older cat (19) and she does fine w the holidays so I guess we're lucky because we also just had a baby. I will say that she is VERY keen on our moods and always knows when my wife or I am down, because she will not leave our side. CAT'S KNOW!

Yes yes and yes. New people and change in schedule and her stress can stress animals too.

Absolutely! My oldest will actually hide more around December because he knows I have people over a lot more and have a few parties. Also, I tend to overwhelm myself and stress a bit.
