Cats and new babies

hello any advice appreciated six months ago i had twins our first kids.  we have two burmese cats aged 9.  they are totally adored. one is very sociable and joinig in with everything.  the bother has always been very sensive the vet thinks she may be agraphobic as well.   The sensitive one has started liking herself in one spot and twitching.  She recently had a full medical and is in perfect health so i am pretty sure its psychological.    We have tried not to change there routine, feed times the same, they are getting much more attention than before because i am on maternity leave, they still have the free run of the house - no restricted areas and the sensitive cat still sleeps under the covers with me - she always has (the babies sleep through the night in their own room).  Is there anything i can do to make her feel happier.  cant stand to see her suffer.

many thanks

I have some, it's drops, but I had heard it was herbally based.  A woman who boards cats (in a very fancy purpose-built place, no cut-rate approaches there) swore by it for reducing kitty stress responses.  My cats were not stressed by staying there, so we didn't need to give it to them after they got home, therefire I don't know how well it works.  But she was the pro, not me == it might work.

yes can be psychological (although some Vets swear there is no such thing, everything has a medical reason). if he is afraid for his own reasons than he is experiencing stress...It could also be a food allergy so watch the area for scabs or other open sores.
I am in the midst of trying flower essence (herbs) and have been reading about for 'other' issues with both my cats.
there is one that is recommended for stress and over grooming.
It maybe worth a try for your boy.
If you are interested. I will give you the suppliers that are cat safe and how to safely prepare and use. most are prepared with brandy so care needs to be taken to not use these  for a cat.
there are many that swear by herbs for their cats...so I'm willing to try.

Or in the meantime, you could buy from a pet store or your Vet a product called 'feliway' its homeopathic, safe and works for some.

Rescue remedy is also homeopathic, all I know of it Annie is its used for trauma, I didn't know it was also a hairball treatment??

We have one cat that has free reign in the house, and four that are outdoor and have a few rooms they can access.  I gave my indoor cat a lot of catnip when I thought she would be stressed by our son.  When he got big enough, he gave her the catnip.  Once she realized he might be the source of good things, she decided he was OK.

Rescue Remedy is a sort of herbal treatment that some people put in the cat's water to try to calm them.  Might also be worth a shot.

Finally, with our outdoor cats, we began restricting their sleeping area to be much smaller than before, and they liked it.  Apparently, they were worried about having to maintain and protect a large territory after our son appeared.  At night, in they would go to their little cubicles, and they always slept well and were happy in the morning.

Just keep giving her attention...
Cat treats, Toy's, Cat milk...

Stuff like that maybe??

Tell her you love her as well...
My cat We have had for 2 years adapted well when we got another cat a year ago, we got two more he sulked for a few days, and then on of the cats had kittens. We now have 8 cats... his nose is out of joint, but we give him so much attention, we do have to feed him seperately because he tends to give up for the little ones, such a gentle...cat even if we put out a bowl for each cat. LOL. But he gets so much attention so he knows he is not left out in anyways :) and he still comes home everyday, if he wasnt happy, he would have gone 3 months ago
