DOES EVO CAT FOOD CAUSE DIAHERRA?

I was reading on another site, where a person was asking the same questiong and the expert was asking if she'd hat the cats tested for parasites and she had, and the same thing is happening to my female cat.  She is getting diarhea.  Has anyone else had this problem?  On the other hand my male cat's coat is the best it's ever been!  Can I give my cat plain yogurt, and pedialyte?

Depending on the cat, Evo is good, but it wasn't good for my kitty.  I found out that it uses potatoes.  Potatoes can still be likened to a grain, as the kitty can respond to potatoes in the same manner as to grains.  Wellness has been a better choice for my kitty.

Diarrhea can occur for as number of reasons.  The three most common are probably parasites, medications, and diet.  If parasites, she needs medication to kill the type of parasites s he has.  If caused by medications (notibly prolonged use of antibiotics), she needs probiotics, If diet, she needs a change in diet.

I agree with Opus regarding the yogurt and pedialyte. Cow's milk is not particularly good for cats and lactose intolerance in cats is fairly common,   Pedialyte is intended to balance electrolyte in small children whose requirements are different for cats.  If the diarrhea is causing dehydration, she needs subcutaneous saline hydration, but that will not cure the diarrhea.

hi and welcome to our cat forum. to answer your question IMO absolutely NOT. EVO is an excellent choice in commercial food, preferably cans!
On the other hand if the diarrhea began soon after the EVO was started it could always be an allergy to something in the food....but the brand itself is an excellent choice.

How long has she had the diarrhea? and how loose? how many times a day does she go?
I wouldn't give yogurt with diarrhea and only give pedialyte if the diarrhea is severe and there is lots of fluid loss.

Can you feed her a diet of cooked chicken(human grade) for a day or two just to give the intestinal tract a rest, than add the EVO slowly to see if thats the culprit?
Be very sure she is drinking lots.
There is a supplement I can give you info on, its called 'slippery elm bark' and very good for soothing the mucosa. will wait to hear back from you.
