First foster kittens of 2011

Judy is a 5 month old dilute tortie that came to the shelter with the worst case of ear mites that I have ever seen.  The were so bad that they even were biting her all over her head and caused some hair loss and scabs.  She is now rid of the mite infestation and her skin is healing and her fur is growing back nicely.

What a pretty girl, Judy is!  Very unique coloring and looking good and on the mend.  Saw Emily in your album - another beautiful girl and very healthy looking.  I love those silver/grey tabbies.  I'm glad she's over the trauma of just entering the shelter and has found a friend in Judy.

Oooo...Judy is a pretty kitty!!!  Looks like a cross between our Kestrel and Chesapeake.

Chessie has, what seems to be, a yeast infection in her right ear.  (Swabbed it, examined under magnification, no movement, hence, the idea of no mites.)

My wife and I swab her ear daily, after putting a few mild, herbal antiseptic drops in...

the kitties are adorable Nancy, I'm so glad you got those darn mites healed up...imagine how irritating that would be!!! poor baby.
And now they have each other isn't that wonderful, wouldn't it be nice if they could be adopted together too.....nice to have you back, we missed you!! ♥Opus

Apparently I can only post one photo in the original post of a thread, so Emily's photo didn't show up.  I've started a new album for 2011 fosters (I'm sure there will be more as we head into kitten season) with photos of both Judy and Emily.

Emily is about 8 months old and was very frightened and a bit anti-social when she came into the shelter.  She wouldn't eat and just cowered in her kennel.  She is a beautiful silver grey tabby and she is now eating like a champ and she and Judy have become best buds.  She is now very friendly, affectionate and a bit of a talker.  She and one of my own cats,Chatty, have whole conversations with each other.
