Why is Primor not good for cats?

Our cat is being treated for possible seizures.  CBC came back normal except for a blood cell commonly associated with inflamation and toxoplasmosis.  With all the blood work normal except for that one we began treatment with Primor 120 mg prescribed by our vet.  Now our cat is taking quick shallow breaths, is lethargic, not eating or drinking that we can tell.  Normally he will fight and try to get away when picked up but today he definitely seems to have a lot less energy.  Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this change?

My cat is on primor because she falls down and has a severe head tilt and can hardly walk.  after 28 days on primor she is back to normal. after another yr she just had a relapse so she is on it again. the vet said it is for cats that have toxmoplasmosis, my cat tested neg last time, have not had recent test, but I works, no more head jerking and she can walk now.

hi and welcome. I am including two sites for information. I can only find where primor is used for dogs not cats....check this with your Vet.

the symptoms you are describing could also be caused by the toxoplasmosis and not the primor...so be sure to talk to your Vet asap. these symptoms are very serious..
