Fun stuff

How about we all post some funny behaviors our cats have. Such as, my kitty likes to sleep in the bathroom sink. Sometimes I hear screams from guests when they go to wash their hands! She also likes to lick peoples socks!

Tonight my cat went beyond her usual curiosity of watching me take a bath.  It's really fascinating, because my previous cat used to watch me take a shower behind the glass door.  This time I've got a shower curtain and a real bathtub and a different cat.  Since both cats have shown a curiosity about "mommy" taking a bath, I just thought it was a cat thing.  My furball will often sit on the bath mat right next to a tub of water with me in the tub and take her own bath.  She obviously really trusts me to not splash her with water.  Well, tonight she did one better.  At first all she did was stand up with her paws on the edge of the tub.  The next thing I knew, she pulled her whole body up on the edge of the tub.  I watched her for a few minutes and she kept putting her face up close to water and was sniffing it.  When she started tasting the water, I told her not to and that I would be sure to change her drinking water when I was finished with my bath.  As strange as it sounds, she stopped when I told her to--all without my having to resort to splashing her with water.  And, she acted like she would've kept tasting the water if I hadn't told her not to drink the water, too.  I wasn't going to take any chances with her health.  For her to get that close to me while I'm in a tub of water is really trusting.  Clearly, she knows I'm not interested in getting her wet, so she trusts me.  Sometimes she'll put her nose up to mine while I keep the rest of me in the water on my side of the tub.  A couple of times in the recent past she even gave me kitty kisses when we were face to face like this.  Pretty awesome.

ROFL, all these stories are hilarious! I wish I could meet some of these kitties: Chub, Venus, Sakura, Misha, Roomba, Dillan and Abby, Kitty, Tigre, Whiskey, Daphine, and Oliver Taz and Lucy! My cat, Anu, is not nearly so dramatically funny as these are, I think, but she does have her funny little ways. Like Lucy, she walks on her tip-toes in the back, with her back feet turned out. I ask her if she thinks she's a ballerina! She comes up and pats me three times, "tap tap tap", with a plaintive "Mrow!" when she wants up in my lap. Food is called "Wubble" in her vocabulary, and she will weave around my feet saying "Wubble! Wubble! Wubble! Wubble!", also periodically patting me with her tail, until the food is prepared. Anu does like to get into things, sometimes, and Heatherlynn, like you I'll catch her and say "What are you doing, Missy?" and she jumps, but then she'll give me this look like "What? What are you looking at?" She does make me laugh a lot, just in the way she walks even. She likes to hang around outside the bathroom when I'm in there, and play with the spring door stop, so I'll be in there in the evening brushing my teeth, and hear this "Boing! Boing! Boing!" as she repeatedly flips the spring. It's sometimes hard for me not to snort the toothpaste out everywhere, I'm laughing so much. The one thing she does that's funny-peculiar, not funny-haha, and I have to watch out for, is she likes to eat hair. Not hers, but mine, which is long, and she'll find any hair that might be lying on the floor, and eat it (that's why I don't let her in the bathroom, because that's the only room in the apartment where I untie my hair and brush it) I have to sweep the whole apartment at least every other day! That gives me some worry, because once she got stopped up inside - with my hair - and had to go to the vet. Mostly, though, she brings a lot of laughter to my life! Besides that, she is always right by my side if I'm sick, and then I call her my Nursey-Cat.

Hmm - What do they do that's not wierd.

Oliver has always run around with a beanie baby in his mouth- yowling.  He can wake up the household in the middle of the night being obnoxious.  He "kisses" my dad- nose to nose.  Very jealous of kids-  My nephews will come over and they aren't allowed around dad because he gets hissy.

Taz sits like a people ( :p ).  Goes to the corner of the couch and grabs hold so he can sit on his butt.  He also lays on his back with all 4 feet in the air with his head up against the end of the couch at a 90 degree angle- looks soo painful.  Then he gets up and looks so rumpled- not sleek like most do.

Lucy- my little girl- has the tiniest head so you are afraid to pet it for fear of hurting her.  She is a KLUTZ.  Lays somewhere- stretches or rolls over and falls right off.  Have you ever seen a cat that visibly looks like a person who is slow to wake up.  She just sits there with the "ugh" expression until she's been away 10 minutes or so.  She also walks on her tip-toes in the back and walks sideways with the back feet-  really odd.  She loves to play fetch.  Takes her toys outside to play.  Leaves her toys in the dry food bowl- probably just to irritate the other two.

Hmm- could go on and on

I posted this in the question section, but just in case you've missed it, Daphine is two shes quite a bit crossed eyed, she walks around in circles for no reason, it can be around us, an object or just nothing at all sometimes she even speeds up and goes faster. Its usually pretty funny but somedays she does it so much we have to tell her to stop when you do that she just lays down or comes and gets my lap. We have no idea why she does this and shes always done it we got her when she was four months old. there are pictures of her on profile for those of you who would like to see her shes on the album cover.

I used to have a cat named Tigre. In the 80's i wore those long dangly earrings. He would wait until i took my earrings off at the end of the day and turned out the light and he would steal them. I caught him wandering around with them in his mouth all the time. One day i was vacuming and moved a big speaker away from the corner.....there in that corner was a pile of my earrings! I called him my mina bird after that!                     sp

My cat Kitty, will mimic people.  When I walked with a limp, so did she.  My mother goes down the stairs at the apartment a bit sideways, one step at a time, one foot at a time, my cat will follow her down, the exact same way.

Heather, my younger, Dillan, loves to give you kisses and be loving while you are in the bathroom, in the toilet, doing your thing. He begs for you to pick him up so he can rest in your lap and fall asleep. How awkward is that? LOL

hahahah Last night I had such a good time laughing at the cats. Get this, While Dillan was being nosey looking into my bag, trying to open it, Abby was a few inches from him, growling and kicking him so Dillan would get out of the bag. I swear it was one of those moments when you would swear they are talking? Abby was pretty much saying: 'Dude, you will get in trouble, leave that bag alone' And Dillan was just like: 'Dude, mind your own business' hahahaha Abby was just furious that Dillan was in my bag hahahaha don't ask.

i've been getting the "evil eye" all morning. i'm not sure why. i woke up and she was sitting on my night stand glaring at me with this "i'm going to kill you/eat you" look in her eyes. i ignored it and went about my usual morning routine (putting all remote controls up, clearing off the coffee table,  making bottles and setting up baby gates for the boys) and while i was in the kitchen she sat at my feet "yelling" at me. the entire time. so i figured she wanted fresh water and more food. so i do that for her. she still "yells" at me. so i scooped her potty box....again. (i did it last night right before i went to bed at 11 so 8 hours later which she only used the box once or twice) i go upstairs..i hear dingle dingle dingle of her collar right behind me...still b!tching at me....i'm changing diapers and she's sitting at my feet GLARING at me. i'm talking the look of death. if her looks could kill i would've been dead 10 times over. i go downstairs, dingle dingle dingle of the collar right behind me. i put the boys down and go into the kitchen to start breakfast for everyone. she jumps on my counter and glares at me. in fact she kept moving so she was right in front of me....sitting up so she could see into my eyes and yells at me! and even now she's sitting on the computer desk...glaring at me. just sitting there....staring occasionally i get a rawr or meow from her....but yeah. she's being exceptionally odd today for some reason and i didn't even do anything to her this time.....weird flippin cat.

My cat likes it when I get on the computer. She jumps up on top of the monitor and lays down. She's not stupid. She knows it gets warm up there! It drives my husband crazy! He does not like that as he's afraid she'll get hair inside it and mess it up. So he tried placing something on top to keep her off and she just knocked it off and calmly laid down, lol. I know I shouldn't let her lay up there. I constantly take her back down. Little stinker is right! That's what my cat is!

These are all great and funny stories.  Jade doesn't really do anything that's funny - she's more into just lookin' cute.  She loves to be pet and loved on, but it took her years to actually touch us herself.  The first way she touched us was to lick our foreheads.  More my husband than me because I can't get down on the floor.  My husband is one of those very hairy guys and Jade just loves to rub her head on his arms and legs and licking his forehead seems to make her swoon lol.  She closes her eyes, ears are back and she just licks like she is in heaven and will do it as long as my husband lets her.

heatherlynn - LOL!  "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, MISSY???"  As usual, you crack me up!  Venus is a funny cat, but you have a talent for repeating her antics in such an amusing way :)

My cat would probably like to destroy the computer.  One of the funny things she does if she thinks I've been on the computer long enough is to come to me and rub my legs while meowing.  If that doesn't make things go her way, she will stand up and put her paws on my lap and meow.  She just did this.  And, just now the little stinker gave me a quick and gentle nip on my left elbow.  I can't help but laugh, because I know why she does it.  She either wants attention for herself or she is telling me to get off the computer and go to bed.  Right now, she is sitting there and staring holes through me.  LOL!  She knows she has my attention now, though, which is why she is staring holes through me.  She heard me laugh when I called her a "little stinker".  Smart cat.

oh i forgot venus' new thing. if you're in the bathroom using the potty she MUST be in there with you...either sitting in front of you staring at you as you do your business or sitting in the bath tub. she LOVES LOVES LOVES the bath tub and sinks.

i caught her closing the screen door again. i was putting the boys down for a nap when i came down she was outside shutting the door. so i let her go and i watched her. she was outside for 20 minutes. sniffing around. (i made sure she didn't see me) when she was done she came sneaking back up to the door. all you could see were ears and eyes poking up over the bottom of the door (there is a small step down onto the patio) so when she thought i wasn't there she opened the door came in and very quietly shut the door. so i came from around the corner and shouted "WHAT ARE YOU DOING MISSY???" she must have jumped 6 ft in the air and just about peed her self. she yelled AT ME!!!! and took off running (but of course not before smacking me in the shin as she dashed pass me) she is just too d@mn smart for her own good! i swear!

Chub loves when we put the Christmas tree up.  He'll lay under it for hours.  Roomba, however, freaks out when she sees it.  I think it's because she was a stray cat before being picked up by the ASPCA and has had her fill of trees.  When the tree comes out I can picture her saying "Why the heck is THAT thing IN the house!  It belongs outside!"  lol.

Last Christmas our "bratty kitty" Sakura knocked down our Christmas tree! We were all in bed when I heard a loud "CRASH"! I ran out to the living room and saw the tree on it's side with ornaments scattered all over the place. Sakura was crouched down with her eyes wide staring at the tree. Ooooh, I was so mad at her! But it was funny too, lol. You should have seen the look on her face! She was pretty freaked out! I guess she had tried to climb the tree. Let's hope she doesn't do that this year! I don't think I'm going to buy a new tree till I know my pets aren't going to destroy it!

Don't forget your cat opening the screen door to go outside then closing it and sitting on the couch like he didn't do anything wrong.  I'm still laughing about that one!
