My cat smells like she's rotting

I have an 11 year old cat. She is both an indoor and outdoor cat. She recently went missing for 2 days. WHen she came back she was very dirty which she never is and she has a very foul odor. She is very thin but won't eat. WHen she tries to drink her water she acts like she is choking on her tongue. I opened her mouth and her tongue appears to be black. I have made an appointment with the vet but I am very concerned and would like to know what we are us against. I just went to check on her and there is a pink drool, blood? hanging from her mouth. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Ya know when shanks and pen were dieing they smelled like they were rotting....Its how i knew to give up.

She might have gotten into something when she was missing. Take her to the emergency room right now!!!!!

I really have no clue as to what this condition is, but it sounds serious enough that it should be seen right away by the emergency vet.  If this were my cat, I wouldn't wait.
