I have never heard of this either. I do Revolution. It does wonders.
Jade may have some kind of allergy to something inside. You mentioned your yard but unless it's some sort of pesticide or fertilizer or something you've put on the soil for the grass or garden....if she is scratching in the soil to go to the bathroom, then she could transfer whatever is in the soil or grass to her skin, just a shot in the dark. We've used Frontline Plus the last few yrs and haven't had a flea problem and no itching/scratching. Poor Jade, she may just have sensitive skin.
I've never heard of this, Opus although I've heard something along these lines to kill snails in the garden. I don't think we have fleas in the house, but I think I'll give this a try - it's pretty simple.
Linda, we switched from Advantage to Frontline Plus and it hasn't seemed to of made a bit of difference. Jade still scratches just as much. I think it's our yard.
opus, I've heard of this remedy also, people swear by it, but like you I've never tried it. I rely on the Frontline Plus and it works great, usually for more than a month. :)
theres the solution....drowning them!!
by a holistic recipe:
fill a shallow plate with water. add 1-3drops of dish soap or hand soap.
mix in well.
place th plate on the floor with a small lamp shining onto the water.
fleas will be drawn to the heat, just need a small wattage bulb.
Place in several places throughout the home, focusing on areas with the highest infestation. such as close to your cats bedding and sofas with cloth upholstery.
leave all the lamps(over the dish) on all night with all the other house lights off.
fleas will jump into the water and drown. than simply flush down the toilet in the a.m. repeat until till you see no more dead fleas in the dish....maybe necessary to rotate areas in the home.
Its unlikely the kitties will be attracted to the plate of dish soap but in case they are simply add a mess screen over the top.
I've never tried this but its sure worth a go!!
good luck and let us know how it works.
Only if you use enough to drown them.
