Why does my cat shred every kind of paper?

my cat Tiger shreds every kind of paper and I was wondering if it was because she is just moody, irratated, nervous, or just trying to let me know she is hungry or upset.  She was spayed when she was a baby---I would like any input on this matter    cause itdrives me batty!!!!!  Thanks again....blossom_grrl

Ummmm.  I have had many cats and  all of them had a blast with paper of any kind.  I saved wrapping paper because it was a great cheap toy;).

Think your boy is fine, just wants your attention. Does he act up when you are on computer?  Most will walk on keyboard when they have had enough!

I had to teach mine to respect library books as they would start out by my side, give the book the occasional scritch....then sneak in a quick bite ...lol.

Good luck.

It's fun!   I have one who likes to pull Kleenex out of the box one by one, shredding it as she goes. It makes me laugh.

i have 3 cats and only bob loves to do this. he especially does this if he wants attention or feels it's dinner time when it's not and wants to act out-he'll find the mail or a magazine i specifically wish he wouldn't choose and goes to town! or my school notes. nancyjac is quite right-in my case anyway-bob simply wants to amuse himself or be a little bratty if we aren't doing just what he wants!

Paper is a great toy.  Most likely you cat does it because it is fun, not because she is upset, hungry, or moody.  Keep papers out of her reach and give her something else to play with and scratch.
