After 4 days of treatment, you should see some improvement. The kitten won't be totally better, but you should see a definite improvement. If you haven't seen any or enough improvement in the next 24 hrs call the vet. The vet can try another antibiotic.
It would be much better if you start a NEW thread to get advice from the forum. More people will see it. I saw this by accident and I almost passed right over the post because I saw that it was an old one.
Let me know how your kitten does! But, please, start a new thread!
Hi, we have a 9 wk old kitten called willow. She is a rescued kitten so she has been vaccinated. For the first four days we were given antibiotics for her runny nose, and sneezing. But a week later she still has the symptoms. What could be the problem? Thankyou
Hmm....a healthy kitten can also have a dry, warm nose. Good thing he ate and drank some water. Keep an eye on him. If there are no other symptoms as of today and tomorrow, I wouldn't worry too much.
A kitten's nose changes. In other words, it can go from wet and cold to dry and warm from day to night. It doesn't mean he is sick. Sleeping all day comes from the fact that they do get tired of jumping and running around the house, so there has to be THAT day when they just want to lay. Kittens are characterized by their playful nature and energetic spirit, but they can also be quiet and mellow from time to time. As long as he is still eating, then I would not be extremely overworried. But you may want to keep an eye on him.
Let us know how it goes. But I'm sure you'll have your little devil running around the house like a crazy maniac again tomorrow! Good Luck, and please come back with some updates!
