Sick kitty

My cat is sick and dying. It started about a month ago when his nictitating membrane (inside eyelid)
started covering his eyeballs. I didn’t think it was a big deal but then he lost about 1/2 his body weight in the course of a week and is having toilet accidents and is skin and bones, coughing, lethargic, loss of appetite, vim and vigor, his fur is matted down. What could possibly be wrong with him?? He’s an outdoor kitty is 7 yrs old. I’ve been unemployed since Feb. 4th and can’t really afford an expensive vet bill. Anybody have any ideas??  Thanks, Mike K.

Get your kitty to an emergency vet, no one online could ever examine or diagnose, only a VET can!  Poor kitty, he needs you to take him to your vet right away!

The original problem was probably an upper respiratory infection, but at this point it sounds as though his internal organs are shutting down.  If you can not get him medical help, I would recommend you take him to a shelter for euthanasia to end his suffering.
