9-months post op, tension headaches beginning in weak areas--neck/shoulders.

Hi everyone!

I'm about 9 months pistol, very successful.  I've had none of the issues I had before surgery...thank GOD!  I know I'm not 100% and have more work to do but I'm having a terrible stress reaction (many contributing factors) and it manifests through my neck, into my left shoulder (trapezius muscles), and up to my head as a whopping tension headache.  When I try to do exercises, I have a whopping flare of pain in my left temple and front of head.  I'm taking something for anxiety already, which helps a little, but I think I've always carried my stress in my neck and shoulders, which really made the Chiari symptoms magnified that much more.

So...post surgical friends, any recommendations?  I'm still on pain meds and relaxers since surgery, BTW.

Thank you!!

I shall give it a try!  I use heat at other times but not specifically in conjunction with exercise....more as therapy later on.  Thank you!  I'll keep you posted!
