State Health Insurance

I was diagnosed with Chiari 10 years ago. As a teen I started developing migraines, fainting spells, an I was in an out of hospitals. I was sent to a neurologist who diagnosed with me chiari but then passed my symptoms off as psycho social. After finding a different doctor I found meds to control the migrains an Tremors. Well in hard economy I have recently had to apply for state insurance to try and cover the cost of medication and a doctor since i had to move home to PA. The state is requiring me to have a doctor fill out forms stating my condition an how it affects my ability to work and function but can't seem to find a doctor who specializes in chiari that will accept the insurance for the visit. I've call several areas in central PA but found no doctor who is familiar with chiari who will take state insurance. Does anyone know of a doctor who will?

Dr. Sutton also did my daughter's surgery this year.  How old was your daughter and how is she now?

Look up Dr. Leslie Sutton in Philadelphia. He did my daughter's decompression surgery in 09.

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

  PA is not a great place to locate Chiari specialists...I know there is one out in Pittsburgh...one is listed in Philly, but I went and was of no use to me, so I had to go out of state to NY.....Since u r in central PA u may want to try the one out in Pburgh......I have no idea what ins he works with...u will have to contact his office and ask....we do have his info in the list of Drs....see the Health Pages or see thread on this page.
