NL that r well informed r harder to find than a NS...and I use my PCP..and since u r having an issue with urs, u might want to ask the NS if he knows of one that would be a good candidate.

Not yet, My surgeon wants me to follow up with her the first few visits. To be honest with you, I never thought of that
I am sure we all do.....we have to educate ourselves as the drs do not seem to have the time....
Do u have a NL for ur post op care??
"selma"
haha, yeah she knows. But she isnt sure why. She doesnt know whats wrong with me but she doesnt think its chiari related! I feel like I know more than some doctors!
Wow...it never ceases to amaze me....my PCP is the one that ordered the EKG. and a chest x-ray.....sigh....
This dr does know u r scheduled for surgery...right??
I actually found my PCP in a minor emergency center. He also does primary care, he is the one who told me that "there is something going on in the back of your brain" amazing how you find the best and the smartest in the strangest places. He is not a specialists in Chiari by any means but he takes the time to listen and can order any tests I need or prescriptions to tide me over.
Good Luck
Um ya, I'd certainly hope you search for a new PCP after surgery. This time, look for one with more than 1/2 a brain ;-D
My PCP still maintains my CM is not large enough to cause problems despite my Opthamologist finding optic nerve swelling. Why don't these doctors educate themselves a little when a patient has a condition they don't understand. I mean come on, an hour on the Internet would do them a world of good. At least my dr will just say, "but I don't know much about Chiari, so that's why we're sending you to a specialist.".
Good luck in your search.
So, you've opted to have that elective brain surgery then, huh? lol... I think the quote of the week has got to be - "Your pcp is dumb."
Who was it that said that?
