Auto accident cause fluid cyst in spinal cord?

I was in an auto accident hit my head extremely hard, have been in concussion & whiplash for almost 4 weeks, mri of brain was ok, neck mri shows fluid cyst in cervical spine area, I've had headaches and tinnitus ever since hit,, can this cyst be caused by CM1? Can that be caused by extreme whiplash? We were hit at about 65 mph most impact right to me,, we were driving 45mph which was speed limit,, I'm going to see a neuro next week but I'm feeling this was due to accident as I never had headaches before or ear ringing,, anyone know if this is possible?

Yes your cyst is most likely related.  Me and my sister be for she passed got cysts due to the pressure in our spines from CM1.  Both of ours came after injuries.  Its called Syringromyelia when related to cm1.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

An injury can cause a syrinx to form.....When a person has Chiari a syrinx can form with out a trauma induced from a MVA or other injury....with Chiari the cerebral tonsils herniate and obstruct CSF flow.....with an injury, trauma to an area can also cause an obstruction and a syrinx forms....

You stated your brain MRI was ok...do you have Chiari? or just Syringomyelia.....
