Nausea

Through out the day I wil get nausous out of no where. Could be feelin ok one min and the next sick to my stomach. This has been happenning for a long time now. Is this related to chiari? If so why?

  I too had this happen...it is a mixture of vertigo and nausea and GERD issues...and post nasal drip...all thanks to chiari.

I could be sitting at work and all of a sudden had to vomit...I didn't feel sick...just had to vomit...and most times I did not feel dizzy....

  I have not had this  to this extreme since surgery.,..I occasionally get nauseated but no vomiting.....but I do have a hiatal hernia which causes reflux ...so mine could still be from that...

As far as what it means...I don't know.  I just know it's often listed as a symptom of CM.  My Dr sent me to occupational therapy for this and it did wonders.  Before, I couldn't even read a few sentences in a book.  Now, no problem!  So...can't hurt to ask.

Oh ya not only does that make me nauseous but gives me a slight headache. Hmmm. What does this mean.

My neck and down my shoulde has been poofy for last 2 days also

Does moving your eyes make you nauseous?  I have a problem with eye movement which is common for Chiari.  I ask because you say you squint your eyes.

Hold your two pointer fingers up in front of you (12" from face maybe? and about 8" apart) and move your eyes back and forth between them 10-20 times.  Can also try things farther away, or up and down motion.  If any of this triggers symptoms, that's a clue and worth mentioning to your dr.

The nausea just comes from no where. I can be sittin down relaxin and bam there it is. But you mentioned movement. When I move my head it feels like its goin to explode from pressure. So I move slow and I dont know why or what to do. Like when I stand up. Bam pressure. I squint my eyse and hold still til it goes away. Been happenin before and now after decompression. Its really getting on my nerves. Loud sounds set it off also. :(

One of my main symptoms was nausea, sometimes increasing nausea until vomiting and then sometimes sudden vomiting with no warning.

At one point any attempt at moving quickly would bring on one of the intense periods of nausea and I couldn't think strait until it finally caused the vomiting.

After my decompression surgery I only was sick strait after it and I thought I was lucky to not have the constant vomiting I had heard about. However ten days later I developed intense nausea and vomiting and was in hospital for 2 more weeks with several issues, originally thought to be meningitis but then decided was ICP. I haven't felt nauseous since I was discharged the second time a few weeks ago

Marybz hit the nail on the head!  I will suddenly feel drunk, and it goes away as quickly as it started (usually I have to lay down).  Usually it's preceded by movements like Marybz described.

Hi, I get that nausea also.  I think it happens when I flex my head forward  or backward like when I read or I tend to look over the steering wheel when I drive.  I think we are cutting off CSF flow..  I tend to get the dizziness with it.  Try to see what you are doing when the nausea hits.  It seems to be transient and goes away when I change position.  Thats my take on it.  It is so nice to have people with the same symptoms i have.  I feel not so crazy now.
