Bone Removal

Hello,
Its been 1yr and 3mth since I had my decompression surgery (bone removal, c1 shaved, duraplasty wth bovine patch and crainoplasty with mesh) and I have more issues than I did before surgery.

Symptoms that bother me the most is serve pain at the base of my skull with nausea very terrible that I often wish I would jus throw up but I don't. Strange feeling on face. Pressure like feelin on forehead comi down towards my nose. Feeling like arms and legs are sleeping and the list goes on.

So my question is this: while searching for answers and spending my time trying to reach my NS who is at john hopkins and pleading for a cine mri that I don't think he plans to order, I decided to read my surgical notes and noticed that he did a crainoplasty with a titum mesh greater than 5cm. Hmmmmmm should I be concerned? Seems to me that doin a crainoplasty greater than 5cm means bone of that amount was taken out which to me seems like too much. I also have a small head and I don't believe its the same size they take out for everybody.O! His note did not indicate how much bone was taken out.

1.Does anyone know how much bone was removed and what size of mesh was used?

2. Can an MRI show the size of bone taken out? I had a head CT and it doesn't show d back of my head

3. Does Dr Oro do the procedure (cerebral ptosis)? If not who does

I will be seeing Dr Oro next month. I know I can ask all these questions but am just getting my mind ready for anything.

Thanks

I have not been diag with it. I justt am so fed up with the symptoms that I am having. It brings me to tears and my NS @ hopkins has not even bothered to order any test like I have asked for.

I will be seeing Dr Oro next month and maybe go to NY. I am jus hoping someone can figure something out.

Thank you

Were u DX'd with cerebral ptosis post op? I am sure Dr O can repair this...it is also known as brain slump, it occurs when too much bone is removed.....

I do not know if there can be a typical amount that is removed...but I was under the impression it would be 2mm or less....

Not all NS's use the mesh, I did not have it as I have a higher possibility of rejecting it as I have EDS....

If too much bone was removed and the mesh is not holding things in place I am sure Dr O will be able to see this in a MRI.
