Hi Kim..sorry u r having so much pain with ur hips....but thanks for the update : )
When TC can not be seen on a MRI it is considered to be Occulta TC...which means hidden, it is not always visible on a MRI which makes dx and treatment very difficult.
Plus, it is for this reason many drs like Dr Rosner and the good drs at TCI r having issues with the medical boards in their states.....but like ur dr said, he had positive result of doing the surgery and upon doing the surgery do find the cord to be tethered.
Good luck with ur MRI of the hip and keep us posted!!
UPDATE.
I saw my NS Dr. Won today. He said it's possible I could have TC because it hurts to *try* to touch my toes. He said it's possible that it won't show on an MRI and has even done surgery for TC on people who didn't show TC on their MRI. He said he is more concerned with my DDD (herniated discs) in my lumbar spine. He said if he was going to do any surgery that would be the first one. He asked me how my sypmtoms where and I told him I was better, but not 100% symptom free. He said it always possible to remove more bone (PFD), but that my post op MRI looked good. I told him I am very happy with my surgery, to which he said he was glad (he has great bedside manners). He said he thinks it would be okay for me to proceed with the hip surgery and we will just monitor my symptoms and I can go back and see him if I need to.
I have my hip MRI on Tueaday. My leg has really been hurting. I asked my husband to lay on the bed eith knee's bent and spread his legs apart, he could touch both knees to the bed. I thought he did it wrong and even asked him to do it again...I can only get my knee's about 1 foot apart and it hurts, I usually have to use my hand to push my legs back to together or I am screaming in pain. I think that's pretty bad, it's most likley I have a tear.
I don't know how/when I should tell my boss. I also have an appointment next month to see an Ortho doctor for my shoulder...I have been to the doctors so many times, my boss has to be wondering what's going on.
I do not know much on this condition with the hip...I do have mild scoliosis as well, TC and I am told I do need the release surgery...I will put it off as long as possible as I do not want another surgery.
I pray u will get a dx as to which way the situation will go...please keep us posted.

I e-mailed Dr. Won about this to confirm. I sometimes have urgency and trouble getting all of my mee out, where I then have to go back to the bathroom after a few minutes and get a few drops out, or it hurts. I do have scoliosis. I have heard people mention the testing and it being painful
I dont' want to be a compainer, because people on here are worse off then me, but THIS *****!! Now I hope it's just a hip problem. The MRI did looj obvious for the hip.
Hi Kim...the urodynamics testing is not fun, but can show if u r having bladder issues as a result of a condition like TC...which, may not show on a MRI...it is thru testing and looking at symptoms that they can dx or rule it out.
Have u been having bladder and bowel issues?
Get ur insurance to cover the coat of seeing a dr that is a specialist in this field....get the testing done to rule out TC....
Keep us posted
