Can anyone help??

I had my surgery in 2005. About two months ago my 2 year old pushed a solid wood door on the back of my head and ever since then ive been having worse symptoms and my doctors dont seem to bellieve me and are just flaking on me.Ive been non stop dizzy, light headed for over a month everyday, pain in the back of my head and neck, weakness and tingling in arms and legs,my eyes shake, pressure in my head, ears and  eyes, im always tired,I have insomnia, Im in pain 24/7. Im scared because I dont know whats going on with me and I can barely take care of my 2 year old son. If anyone can help me in any way please! Im trying everything I can to get help,I even wrote ellen degenerous to try and get her to sponser me.

Hello and Welcome,

Is there any way that you can contact the NS that did the surgery? I know in my case that my NS has an open door policy in which I can contact him through email if any serious kind of situation should arise. In your case, I do think that it sounds serious, especially if you have been mainly symptom free and then all of a sudden these came back after a thump on the head.

Has anyone offered to do a check up MRI? That is where I would start. That way they could take a look and see if there is any re-blockage.

It's too bad, b/c after being dx'd an going through surgery you would think that the Drs would take your word when you say something is not right. I am truly sorry for you if you have to fight to get someone to listen but if that's the case than you really have to do just that. We will all be here to give you support:)

I'm sorry to hear that..my doctor told me that surgery doesn't always make you feel pain free and sometimes they do a second surgery....he gave me the choice to do the surgery or not...I told you this because you might wanna try to see a specialist doctor in Chiari, I went to dr Oro in Denver Colorado. He was very understanding , and after the visit he invited me to his conference and he talked about my case there...so if u have the possibility to go I think you should go. I went to other doctors but it seem like they don't understand what im talking about and they just tell you like general stuff that dont help at all ,I'm left with the bills to pay thats all...:D
My advice to you is dont let the pain get you down, try not to think about it to much,I know how it is...even last night I had a horrible pain in my neck and felt dizzy weakness and tingling in arms and legs, I was kinda scared but I try not to think to much its because ''my problem''....when its like that i get a nice warm bath,''relax time'',try it  works sometimes :) I woke up this morning and im fine praise God!
I'll pray for you and hope everything will be alright I know its not easy but dont let this put you down, you have a son that needs you just think positive :)
take care,be blessed

Hi and welcome to the chiari forum.

Wow, 2005!...that is a long time to go with out symptoms, but again, I am so sorry u r dealing with it and not getting a dr to listen.

May I ask, since ur DS is only 2, did u have a C-section?...it is advisable that chiarians not have natural childbirth as the straining is not a good thing for us....

I wonder if u might have had a few issues, but not so much that u would notice and the door pushed u over....

Was ur orig NS a chiari specialist?....have u had a recent MRI?If ur  org NS will not listen, try ur PCP and see if he/she will at least order the MRI to compare to ur last one.

Be sure to get copies of all MRI's and the reports...new and old...many chiari drs will accept the MRI's and will review them for u, some for free , some for a nominal fee.

Use the Health Page links to locate non profit orgs that can help with financial matters and some that will fly u to the drs locations.
